Friday our “Waste Management” class @ UCLA made a tour of the WM facility in LA. Though it is a D&C facility, demolition and construction, it was still shocking to see the amount of waste.
Here are some of the pics taken from our visit. They process 1.7 million tons/day @ $56/ton tipping fee. Since incorporation in 2003, Downtown Diversion has diverted over 1.35 billion pounds of construction and demolition debris from landfills.
